ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has expressed concern over the lack of facilities for coronavirus patients in government hospitals in Islamabad.
In a statement, PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzaib said that the number of patients in Islamabad has reached 2,400 whereas only 12 ventilators are operational. She claimed that there are no arrangements for the coronavirus patients in Islamabad except 90-bed isolation wards at the Polyclinic and Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). She added that families of the coronavirus patients are forced to use their influence to get ventilators.
Criticising Prime Minister Imran Khan’s handling of the Covid-19 situation, she said that the premier was fighting coronavirus through press conferences, presentations, computer-generated statements and claims while the health system of the country is running on a bad auto pilot.
